Article 21 of the AI Act contains important information about how organizations are expected to cooperate with competent authorities on a wide range of issues.

Providers of high-risk AI systems must provide the competent authorities with access to all necessary information and documentation to demonstrate their conformity with the relevant provisions when requested. Such information and documentation must be provided in a language that the authority can easily understand.

Once a competent authority requests access, the provider must also provide the authorities access to the automatically generated logs of the high-risk AI systems, as mentioned in Article 12. Additionally, any information and documentation the competent authorities gain access to will be subject to the confidentiality obligations per Article 78.
