Hadoop refers to an open-source framework designed for distributed storage and processing of large datasets across clusters of computers. It enables organizations to store, process, and analyze massive amounts of structured and unstructured data, enabling data-driven insights, data mining, and machine learning applications. It provides a scalable and fault-tolerant platform for handling big data using a distributed file system (Hadoop Distributed File System or HDFS) and a distributed processing framework (Apache MapReduce).
