Privacy engineering refers to integrating privacy requirements, obligations, and protections within the design, development, and deployment of systems, products, and services via appropriate technical measures, controls, and safeguards. Doing so protects personal data, ensures regulatory compliance, and allows an organization to include data minimization, encryption, access controls, and anonymization techniques within its data privacy and security infrastructure.
