Proxy server refers to an intermediary server that plays the role of a gateway between client devices and servers on a single network. If a request for resources or services is made from a client, the proxy server handles it on behalf of the client and ensures it is forwarded to the appropriate server. Other important functionalities include caching, filtering, and anonymity.
