Shadow IT

Shadow IT refers to the use of information technology (IT) systems, software, applications, or services by employees within an organization without the explicit approval or oversight of the organization’s IT department. It often involves employees using personal devices or cloud-based services for work-related tasks. While shadow IT can enhance productivity and innovation, it can also introduce security and compliance risks when IT resources are not properly managed or secured by the organization.
