Organizations are eager to stand up generative AI pilots that drive business value, but many pilots overlook operational challenges and focus on technical feasibility over transformative potential, leading to only incremental improvements. Plus, with a vast array of use cases, there’s confusion about how to move forward.

“45% organizations have seen an increase in AI investment since ChatGPT was released.” Also, “Only 19% of organizations are currently running a pilot or producing generative AI.”

— Gartner®

Gartner offers five steps to shape the way businesses can plan their GenAI pilots to start delivering business value:

  1. Identify use cases that align with the business, drive strategic value, and focus on the transformative potential of GenAI.
  2. Prioritize a few impactful use cases according to both business value and feasibility.
  3. Build a small, cross-functional team of business, software, and AI experts to run a full pilot.
  4. Design and plan an MVP, defining deployment approach and risk mitigation plan.
  5. Deliver and iterate, testing and refining implementation with the minimum functionality required.

Access the Gartner report for more on how to build and plan your generative AI pilot around business value, transformative potential, and the future of your business.
