On 25 March 2022, the European Commission and the United States reached an agreement in principle on a new Transatlantic Data Privacy Framework to allow data transfers from the EU to the US. In a joint statement released by the EU and US government, they have announced that the Framework will address the concerns raised by the Court of Justice of the European Union in the Schrems-II case that invalidated the EU-US Privacy Shield arrangement.
