What is Security Operations (SecOps)?

SecOps, short for Security Operations, refers to an approach that combines cybersecurity (security) and IT operations (Ops) to enhance an organization’s security posture and incident response capabilities. SecOps teams work to bridge the gap between security and operations by integrating security practices into the DevOps (Development and Operations) lifecycle. This approach aims to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate security threats and vulnerabilities while maintaining operational efficiency. SecOps involves continuous monitoring, incident detection and response, security automation, and collaboration between security and IT teams to ensure that security measures are seamlessly integrated into an organization’s day-to-day operations.
