What is a Denial of Service (DoS) Attack?

DoS (Denial of Service) is a type of DoS attack is a malicious act intended to interfere with or disable a network, system, or service such that legitimate users cannot access it. It comprises depleting the target’s resources, flooding it with traffic or requests, and degrading performance or completely interrupting service. DoS attacks can be carried out in several ways, including overloading the target with network traffic or exploiting network protocol vulnerabilities.
